I have tried all the Step1 qbank on iPhone and they all have their own strength and weaknesses.

Kaplan has a free Qbank app that comes with 120 questions. It's a nice app, but the main problem is, there is too few questions. After you are done with the 120, the app is basically useless. I have the impression that Kaplan only made the app as an advertising tool, rather than a real full feature product.

USMLE iBank is another one. This is very cheap and comes with 300 questions. The main problem is, it is NOT professionally done. The description on the AppStore reads "50% off sale just because I feel like it." I sometimes have doubts as to whether the answers and the explanations are correct or not.

USMLExchange Step 1. This one is pretty nice. There is the iPad version and the iPhone version, both comes with 5000 questions. It's a bit pricey, but still a lot cheaper than those web-based qbank. I like this one the most, just because it is a full qbank that I can rely on through my board. The problem is, it is a fairly new product, and there are some glitches here and there that still need to be ironed out.

USMLEConsult. This one is also nice, but even more expensive. It comes in blocks, i.e. one app $5 is one block of 50 questions. Question quality is just as good as USMLExchange and Kaplan. The problem is they have only released 3 blocks so far, so you only get 150 questions, and it's kind of inconvenient having to go through three separate app to see all the questions.

Exam Master. This one I would stay away. $30 for 300 questions. The questions are quite outdated and the explanations are not very detail. Of course, that's just my opinion, other people may like it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! That usmlexchange app really is amazing. I wish I had discover it earlier, that way I could have started working on the qbank sooner. Still, at least now I can keep studying even when I am at the gym.
